This is not a book about sadness, although I cannot imagine a greater
sadness than the one that struck me first with the death of my son
Michael in 1995, and then with Anthony just 16-months later.
They were great sons and they would not want me moping around now,
any more than they wanted pity when they were very sick. They were
stand-up guys. They tried to understand “why”; just
as I did.
This is the book I believe they would want me to write.
